Selected engineering work.

This page documents projects Machinno3D has delivered, described according to what was engineered, installed and accepted. Customer identities are kept confidential. Where a project’s documentation is still being prepared, it is marked as such rather than summarized.

The challenge

A Colombian direct-selling company needed additional capacity in an order-fulfilment operation that depended heavily on manual work, where picking accuracy was affected by manual execution.

The intralogistics equipment was purchased from a European manufacturer. During implementation it presented technical discrepancies that had to be resolved on site before the system could operate.

The engineering work

Machinno3D carried out the complete installation, functional testing, and the identification and correction of technical discrepancies, followed by commissioning and start of operation.

The work included resolving signal-labeling discrepancies and equipment defects found during testing. Machinno3D did not manufacture or design the imported system; our responsibility was to make it work in the customer’s operation.

The picking system

Approximately 900 pick-to-light electronic boards were installed across 16 picking stations, with the printed location scheme used by operators at the pick face.

Each module indicates the position to pick and is confirmed by the operator, so the sequence is guided rather than read from a paper list.

The operation running

Twelve seconds of the picking operation during normal use. The excerpt shows the workflow; it is not a measurement of throughput or accuracy.

The outcome

The installation was commissioned, entered operation, and was accepted by the customer through a formal acceptance certificate. It remains in operation, with modifications made since.

No productivity, accuracy or financial figures are published for this project, because none has been measured and released by the customer.

Additional engineering projects

Machinno3D delivered two further projects for the same customer under separate contracts. Their documentation is being prepared and will be published here once the facts are confirmed.

Modernization of an existing installation

A separately contracted project to bring an earlier installation into line with the newer system.
